When should my child stay home?
Fever= temperature of 100 degrees of more
Persistent cough, sore throat, & runny nose
Vomiting and/or diarrhea
Body rash with itching or fever
Live adult head lice
Eye symptoms such as redness, drainage, itchiness, pain, etc.
If your child has any of the above and will be staying home, please notify the school by calling (413)245-9644 or email at Holland@tantasqua.org
When can my child return?
Fever free (< 100 degrees) for 24 hours without fever reducing medication
If prescribed an antibiotic, need 24 hours of antibiotic use before returning
No vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours
Can return with doctor's note after unidentified rash has been evaluated
Treatment for lice has been completed and no live lice are present in hair
Eyes are free of drainage, redness, itchiness, etc. If antibiotics prescribed for conjunctivitis, 24 hours of eye drops/ointment need to be completed prior to returning to school.
*Note: If your child sees their licensed health care provider please ask him/her for a return to school note.
Injury (fracture, concussion, sprain, eye injury, stitches, etc.), recovering from serious illness (such as pneumonia) or surgery, your child MUST return to school with a DOCTOR’S NOTE stating if your child has any limitations or can fully participate in school activities (such as gym, recess, or school sponsored sports/clubs).
