Students learn best when they are well, attentive, energetic, and happy. School nurses assess health needs and provide interventions to enhance academic success.
Nursing Services
•Assessment, Emergency & Basic First Aid, Referral & Follow-up for injury, illness & health concerns
•Administration of medications and treatments as ordered by a physician
•State mandated screenings
•Collaborate with parents, school personnel, school physician, Board of Health & community agencies in regards to health, safety & environmental issues that may affect the well-being of the school population
•Promote health & provide counseling, advocacy & education
•Maintain student’s school health record
In case of illness or injury, emergency care and first aid will be provided until a parent or other assigned adult responsible for the student is contacted. Please make certain that we have an updated Student Emergency Information Card for each of your children. Please note other special issues such as legal custody or known allergies. Always keep the school posted on any address or telephone number changes so we can reach you in a timely manner in the event of an emergency. Parents must provide transportation home for any sick or injured child, except in an emergency.
*Health Notes, Physical exam forms, Doctor’s notes, and any other forms that have medical information documented: Please send in a ‘sealed envelope’ addressed to the School Nurse.
