This diploma pathway prepares students to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree. The Core Curriculum meets the minimum requirements for admission to a Louisiana college or university and course requirements for the TOPS Scholarship Program.
TOPS University Core Curriculum (24 units)
English (4 units): English I, II, III, & IV
Math (4 units): Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, & Advanced Math
Social Studies (4 units): American History, Civics, World Geography, & World History
Science (4 units): Biology, Chemistry, & two of the following:
Environmental Science, Physical Science, Biology II, Physics (ACCC)
Foreign Language (2 units of same language):
Spanish, American Sign Language (ACCC), French (E2020), Latin (E2020)
Physical Education (2 units): PE (1.5 units) & Health (0.5 unit)
Art Elective (1 unit):
Art, Band, Theater, Choir, or Fine Arts Survey
Financial Literacy (1 unit)
Electives (2 units)
Computer Science (required for cohort of 2029 and later)
Grants and Scholarships are FREE money to help pay for college. They do NOT have to be repaid.
Loans are money that must be repaid with interest after you graduate.
Check back frequently for scholarships you can earn during your freshman and/or sophomore year.
