There are TWO pathways a student may take to earn a high school diploma in the sate of Louisiana: TOPS University Diploma Path or TOPS Tech JumpStart Diploma Path. Both pathways culminate with the same Louisiana High School Diploma. Find out more information below to determine which pathway is the best for you.
This diploma pathway is for students who plan to attend a four-year university after graduation. Students on this pathway receive preparation to take the rigorous curriculum required for a bachelor's degree in numerous academic areas. This pathway also meets all curriculum requirements for the TOPS Scholarship Program.
This diploma pathway is for students who plan to attend a community college, technical program, or enter the workforce after graduation. Students on this pathway receive preparation in career skills and technical training in career-focused programs. This pathway meets the curriculum requirements for the TOPS Tech Scholarship Program.
LEAP 2025: Each student MUST pass one from each subgroup
English I or English II
Algebra I or Geometry
Biology or Civics (for Cohort of 2028 or later)
ACT: Each student MUST take the ACT at least once.
WorkKeys: Students on the JumpStart diploma pathway who do not earn an 18 or better on the ACT will take the WorkKeys test.
