Dr. Zhenyu Zhang holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University and concurrently serves as an Assistant Research Scientist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI).
His scholarly interests include construction worker safety and health and participatory intervention. Dr. Zhang is credentialed as a Certified Safety Professional and is an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer.
Driven by a passion for collaborative knowledge creation, Dr. Zhang is dedicated to developing innovative tools and devices together with construction industry experts. His goal is to empower professionals in the field to make informed decisions that enhance safety and health in their day-to-day operations.
[February 2024] Dr. Zhang has been granted funding by MYCON General Contractor as Co-PI for the project "Boosting Construction Site Safety: Neuro-informed Safety Training using Artificial Intelligence."
[November 2023] Our article Applying Implementation Science to Evaluate Participatory Ergonomics Program for Continuous Improvement: A Case Study in the Construction Industry is published in the Journal of Applied Ergonomics
[August 2023] Farouq Sammour has joined our research group as a Ph.D. student, having been awarded the school's top-off scholarship in acknowledgment of his outstanding academic accomplishments.
[February 2023] Our research proposal, titled 'What Goes Around Comes Around: Understanding the Value of Reciprocity in Research-to-Practice Partnerships,' has received funding from CPWR - National Construction Center. Dr. Zhang will spearhead this project as the PI.
[January 2023] I have joined the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M as an Assistant Professor.
