Flight Options
College Station is served by Easterwood Airport (CLL), with available connections to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and, from there, most major cities worldwide. You may also fly to Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Hobby Airport (HOU) or the Austin-Bergstrom Airport (AUS), but you will need to arrange ground transportation to and from College Station.
The recommended options are to fly into CLL or IAH. In terms of convenience, the CLL airport is by far the closest and extremely easy to navigate. However, the drawback is that flights into (and out of) CLL are sometimes more expensive than other airports. The most budget-friendly option is usually to fly into IAH, especially for international travelers. IAH is a major hub of United Airlines, with direct connections to London (LHR), Amsterdam (AMS), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC), Mexico City (MEX), São Paulo (GRU), and several other large international airports.
Of course, flight prices are highly variable depending on location and timing, so please check all feasible options to compare and decide which one is best for you!
Approximate driving distances and times from each airport to the Texas A&M College Station campus are listed here:
CLL 3 mi (5 km) 8 min
IAH* 90 mi (145 km) 1 hr 30 min
HOU* 108 mi (174 km) 1 hr 50 min
AUS* 100 mi (161 km) 1 hr 40 min
*The fastest routes from these airports include roughly $5-10 of toll roads, but alternate routes exist that avoid tolls while adding 10-20 minutes to the overall trip.
Ground Transportation
Shuttles are available to/from the Houston (IAH) airport. A popular choice is Ground Shuttle, which offers service to/from IAH for $59 (one-way price).
Ground Shuttle has limited availability and may become unavailable as the conference approaches. If you are unable to reserve a seat on a shuttle, you may also reach College Station by taxi, Uber, or similar services.
An alternative option is to rent a car; for solo travelers, this may be more costly than an Uber or shuttle, but will allow more flexibility for travel, since public transportation is limited in College Station. If you are traveling in a group or your flight arrives at the same time as other attendees, you may be able to arrange to carpool.
