As president, I ran and planned meetings and events, and communicated between scouts and adults to find a plan best fit for the members.
Worked with new scouts to help introduce them to our group and the scouting as an organization. Set up recruitment events and informational meetings.
I had the opportunity to be a founding member and Senior Patrol Leader of a BSA Troop for girls. An SPL’s responsibilities are similar to those of a president. This allowed me to grow and work in a harder situation than most due to everyone else around me being new to Troop level scouting.
Being the Boatswain of a Sea Scout ship is similar to being a president. I was able to learn through experience, but also help guide my shipmates and leaders to run a good program, take care of boats, and have fun. My experience was further impacted due to the global pandemic.
