Tell the story of your life, highlighting memories or events that you feel are important to
who you are today. To help guide your writing, think about the following questions:
● 2004: Birth
○ I don’t remember anything from this period, but I lived this life as an only
child.
● 2007: Sibling
○ I was asked if I wanted a sibling, and I said yes… I love my sister but
honestly, I thought it was too late cause of the movies I watch lol. A lot of
things changed after that, spending time with my sister can be hell, but it
isn’t always.
● 2011: Volleyball
○ I played volleyball at the YMCA and after years of my parents putting me
through different sports, I found one that I loved. Volleyball is something
that I still love to this day and it has brought me joy through middle and
high school.
● 2014:
○ Camping
■ I went camping for the first time during 5th grade. I went with my
family and other members of the organizations. It was something
that was relaxing and fun to learn about at the time. This interest
went to open up more opportunities for me in the future.
○ School
■ This school year was the 1st time I made the A honor roll. This is
something that I wanted and worked hard to get. During school, my
close friends were very smart and people that didn’t have to work
hard to make all A’s, so benign able to achieve this myself was a
huge confidence boost.
● 2016: Scouting
○ When I was 14 I joined a BSA Venturing Crew, I originally joined because
my family and I hadn’t gone camping in a very long time. For me, this was
an opportunity to get outdoors again. Little did I know that scouting would
turn into something so much more for me.
○ Through scouting, I was able to learn outdoor skills, learn about
leadership, and make new friends. Scouting is where are of my dedication
went throughout high school. Through this, I have tons of experience and
preparation for socializing and leading.
● 2020: Covid
○ Covid was a big change for everyone, having to stay at home and not
being able to see people every day made things hard. During this time I
struggled a lot with my mental health.
○ Through this, I learned more about how to take care of myself and truly
understand myself.
● 2021: Senior Year
○ This was the first time I went back to school in person after Covid started.
This helped significantly to see other people every day again. I learned
just how important it was for me to have people around me, but the work
aspect was still hell. I’m so glad to have left that part of my life behind.
● 2022: Working up to College
○ During the time after high school, I was definitely nervous to live without
my parents, but I traveled with my extended family and it truly helped me
to grow independence. When move-in actually came I was nervous to stay
somewhere new, but I was so super excited to start the next part of my
life.
● How would you describe yourself as a learner?
○ I like to learn, but I either get it the first time or I get it after the 20th time. I
care a lot about school, so sometimes I feel like I am always working.
● What is your work ethic like?
○ I have a pretty good work ethic when I am being relied upon by someone
else or it is something I enjoy. I struggle more when it comes to math and
foreign language I often overthink things that can draw out short tasks.
● What are your strengths/talents and weaknesses/deficits?
○ I am good at teaching. I am patient and can think of different ways to
explain something
○ I know a lot of outdoor skills
○ I have a lot of leadership skills and experience
○ I overthink everything
○ I’m not the best at planning, but I can’t go into things without thinking it
through first.
