This project details the road block, the "brain freeze" we all get creatively. The pencil shows the creative potential around us with its burst of art, and the hand attached to my character, Booker, is filled with anxiety and creative potential so he ready to "run". My idea was that I could not think of an idea, my head was in a brain freeze. My inner thoughts were going in circles, or figure eights over the ice cube that is my brain. Eventually, your brain freeze helps you see your answer, as you can see the ice cube is melting onto the plug that is igniting the lightbulb, the thought. Sphenopalatine Ganglioneuralgia is the medical term for a brain freeze, so since my idea of a brain freeze is different from the standard Ice Cream lick, I felt this title fit. I eventually reworked Booker to be the face of my YouTube Channel.
Drawing is a calming outlet for me. I tend to doodle in my notebooks and throughout my Junior year of high school, I listened to "The Mystery Zone" by Spoon on repeat while I drew. These characters were birthed out of those doodles, and so I compiled them into this weird piece of artwork. I felt "The Mystery Zone" was a good title because these doodles had no purpose rather than being what my mind would wonder off to at times throughout the day. I see those times as me entering "The Mystery Zone" where all of my doodles live. A mosquito, a squid robot controlled by a small guy in his stomach mouth, and a cool cloud dude.
If I Fall is my final design project in my design class at A&M. The project was made using pencil, sharpie, marker, colored pencil, and watercolor pens. There are many stories within it that all represent my fears and anxieties. The blue character falling in the center represents me if I were to fall into my anxieties. Graduation, death, failure, what is the bigger part of life, and family issues are all themes within the work. This project was selected to be a part of FRESH FORWARD II in the Wright gallery at Texas A&M. It was on display from May - September 2024.
In my Intro to Graphic Design class, we had to create a made up event and create an event poster. This poster was chosen to be in the TAMU art show in the fall of 2023.
I was asked by my teacher to create the wrestling schedule poster that they hung around the school. The wrestling coach wanted a "Game of Thrones" theme.
I was one of the graphic designer for my high schools news show. Here are some of the name tags I designed.
