This course is an overview of real property, land, and real estate law exploring issues surrounding property ownership, use, regulation, and planning, particularly as related to real estate development. Here, we explored the nature and fundamentals of property law, distinguished between real and personal property, and gained an appreciation of property as legal rights about tangible or intangible assets. The delineation of water and mineral rights was an important topic discussed. Issues surrounding title, conveyance, easements, fixtures, liens, encumbrances, and restrictions were discussed. Lastly, each week provided new cases that allowed us to discover the origin of the real estate and property laws we have today
