Using the area of Hauora - write the following words on the post-it notes and place it where they fit into the four areas of Hauora.

improving fitness - telling someone your problem

Take a picture of yourself.
Teacher prints it out.
Cut the image in half, paste it on an A3 black paper (use your left half)
On the right side of the black paper, use the pastels and draw the things that represent who you are.
eg. flag, favourite food etc.
Sc: In a group we can share our ideas:-
write a list of common words or ideas about Hauora/ Well-being.
Come up with a group definition
Activity: Brainstorm their activity on A3 paper.
WALT to recognise, understand, and use familiar words about ourselves, and our whanau.
eg. māmā (mother, mum), pāpā (father, dad), mātua (parents), tiaki (to look after), tupu (to grow), whānau (to be born), kaha (strong/capable), mōhio (clever), pai (good), kaiako (teacher), kula (school / knowledge)
Activity 2.
Students could draw their family portrait or bring a photo of their family to class.
Everyone must have a turn.
Within the group each student will introduce each family member on the picture.
Need to specify who someone is and their relationship to you.
eg. This old lady (kuia) who is sitting at the front is my grandmother.
Activity:
Each student can write up their own pepeha.
