Welcome to Commerce & Business Studies at Tamaki College with Mrs Tu'itupou.
Commerce is the study of how goods and services are bought, sold, and exchanged between people, businesses, and countries.
It helps us understand how the economy works, how businesses operate, and how financial decisions affect our daily lives. Commerce includes several areas, such as:
Business: The activities that involve producing, selling, and managing goods and services.
Economics: The study of how people make choices about what to produce, buy, and sell with limited resources.
Finance: The management of money, including saving, investing, and borrowing.
Marketing: The ways businesses promote and sell their products to consumers.
In a world that’s always changing, commerce helps us understand the systems that shape how we work, earn money, and use products. It also teaches us how to make informed decisions about managing money and starting or running a business.
By studying commerce, we learn how individuals and businesses make choices that impact our communities and the world.

In business studies, students develop their understanding of business theory and practices in a range of relevant contexts, through experiential as well as theoretical approaches to learning.
Business studies has natural links to the social sciences learning area. Contexts for business can also be drawn from other learning areas, such as technology.
