Akomanga Kaihanga is a one-term (10-week) option class offered in Years 9 and 10. The programme is designed as an engaging, hands-on learning experience that fosters the development of capabilities for life-long learning.
Akomanga Kaihanga introduces students to Design Thinking, a human-centred approach to problem-solving that fosters creativity, empathy, critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience.
Akomanga Kaihanga aims to empower students to become active problem-solvers and innovators, equipped with a valuable skillset that extends far beyond the classroom. By focusing on real-world problems and a human-centred approach, students will gain confidence in their ability to make a positive impact in their whānau and community.
