When/why do I use a practice test?
The purpose of the practice tests in both English language arts/literacy (ELA) and math is to allow teachers, students, and parents to experience a Smarter Balanced test.
The practice tests mirror the year-end assessment: they are similar in format and structure to the actual Smarter Balanced ELA and math assessments, illustrate the range of grade-specific test questions, and include performance tasks.
Practice test questions are not adaptive and answers are not saved or scored. Students can take them an unlimited amount of times.
