- Background
Reading across the Curriculum (RaC) is
Built on the strengths of ‘Reading to Learn’ - one of the updated Four Key Tasks to enrich the school-based English Language curriculum;
An approach that helps students
Relate their learnings an make connections to their daily lives
Establish cross-curricular links, develop their reading proficiency and enhance their interest in reading; and
A platform for cross-curricular collaboration and in support for
STEM education.

4. Structure of Curriculum
S4
By the end of the programme, S4 students will be able to: [Learn to Read]
Learn how to read in a wide range of reading topics and text-types;
Understand different reading skills needed for different
reading resources;
Widen their subject knowledge and deepen their learning by identifying the connection between subjects through reading activities;
Apply the reading skills to their everyday learning;
Increase their exposure to English reading materials in the key
learning areas
Learn from reading based on subject knowledge, reading strategies, values and attitude.
S5
By the end of the programme, S5 students will be able to achieve the following:
[Read to Learn]
(a) Acquiring, constructing and applying flexibly the knowledge in
different areas;
(b) Enhancing the language abilities essential for communication,
academic studies and intellectual development;
(c) Developing metacognitive abilities to regulate the reading and
learning process;
(d) Unlocking potential and developing thinking and generic skills;
(e) Cultivating a broad spectrum of interests and enhancing their taste and
quality of life;
(f) Cultivating their moral and affective qualities to strengthen their sense
of responsibility towards self, family, society, the Motherland and the
world;
(g) Fostering open-mindedness to accommodate different opinions, views,
values and cultures; and
(h) Extending their understanding of life and rising to the challenges in life.

7. Activites
Chinese Cultural Week (19/10/2022-28/10/2022) — a “Learning Fair/Bazaar” organized for students to display learning outcomes and apply the acquired skills through setting up display boards/game booths.
