Basecamp: Stop 1 of LeaderPath
At Tab, we Bend to the Book and want to start our discipleship pathway reflecting our pursuit of Biblical Integrity
Basecamp is the first stop on the LeaderPath journey, highlighting the four stages of the biblical narrative: creation, fall, redemption, and glory. Basecamp meets on Sunday mornings for four weeks, covering one of the stages in the storyline of Scripture each week. Grab your Bible, invite a friend, or come and make new friends and start your discipleship journey at Tab Church!
Handout for weeks 1-4 of Basecamp
Week 1 covers how God is eternal, perfect, and triune, possessing all knowledge, power, and presence, and revealing His nature through creation. He created all things—heavenly beings, humanity made in His image, and the natural world—declaring everything “very good” and continually sustaining it by His power. Humanity was created to steward and develop the earth under God’s authority while living in a loving relationship with Him and with one another.
Week 2 covers how the Fall began when humanity questioned God’s word and goodness, seeking autonomy and godlike status, which led to shame, broken relationships, death, and a curse that affected all creation. Sin is universal, lawless, and enslaving, distorting human desires, separating people from God, and expressing itself both personally and systemically in cultures opposed to Him. Satan, a rebellious and defeated enemy, works through deception, accusation, and temptation to lead human hearts away from God, yet remains under God’s ultimate authority.
Week 3 covers God’s plan of redemption unfolds through His promises—from the first hope of victory over Satan, through the covenants with Abraham, Moses, and David, to the promised Messiah who would bring blessing, restoration, and an eternal kingdom. God ultimately provided redemption through Jesus Christ, who lived sinlessly, died for our sins, rose in victory over death, and now reigns as Lord. Through Christ, God reconciles, redeems, frees, heals, and restores His people, making them new and bringing them into covenant relationship with Himself. Yet this salvation is lived in the tension of the “already but not yet,” where God’s victory is secured but awaits its full and final completion.
Week 4 covers Christ's return unexpectedly to establish His kingdom fully and to judge all people with perfect justice. At His coming, believers will be transformed—freed from sin, suffering, and death—and made fully like Christ in both body and spirit. God will also renew the entire creation, removing the curse and filling the new heavens and new earth with His glorious presence forever.
