This February our library theme is Tony's Library, inspired by The Lady and The Tramp.
Our students are getting a taste of Italy in Tony's Restaurant as they explore what the library has in store this month. Each month our library activities revolve around the monthly theme to keep our space fresh and fun!Â
Blind Date With a Book
In honor of Valentine's Day, our students can go on a "blind date with a book!" Each mystery book has a "dating profile" with a little description hinting at its contents for the students to read and try to find their perfect match. Even better, these books are for the students to keep!
Our makerspace features "brain break" activities to practice hands-on critical thinking skills, fine motor skills, and creativity. This month, students can create their own pasta plate using yarn noodles, pom pom meatballs, and wrapping paper sauce
Each month we feature a book display of titles on our library shelves, and this month we are highlighting our favorite books that are set in Italy reminding us that "there's a big hunk of world with no fence" and that is there for us to discover!
Books of the Week
Starting this month, the library will be feature a "book of the week" based on the theme of Pope Leo's prayer intention for the month. This month, we pray that children receive medical care and have selected titles that feature protagonists who are challenged by disease. Students can tune in to Bishop's TV to hear about a new book each week!
