This September, our library theme is Finding Nemo: Welcome Aboard Explorers!
As we celebrate our oceans and marine life, our students are learning to embrace change, welcome new friendships, and "just keep learning" throughout the start of the school year.
Each month our library activities revolve around the monthly theme to keep our space fresh and fun!
Each September we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, dedicated to recognizing the important contributions that Hispanic culture, individuals, and identities bring to our society and our school. During our monthly focus on ocean life, our students are introduced to marine biologist, author, wildlife educator, and shark enthusiast Melissa Cristina Márquez.
Melissa authored the children's book series Wild Survival about her true encounters in the wilderness.
Our makerspace features "brain break" activities to practice hands-on critical thinking skills, fine motor skills, and creativity. This month, students can explore the ocean through a virtual reality adventure.
Each month we feature a book display of titles on our library shelves, and this month we are looking into "something fishy" with our mystery collection.
Our students are sharing what they are most looking forward to exploring this year, whether it be making friends, studying their favorite subject, or joining a club/activity.
When beginning a new school year it's important to know what resources are available for accomplishing research papers, projects, test prep, and homework help. Luckily the library is here to help!
