What is a WEP?
All school districts in Ohio reporting services to gifted students must have on file a copy of a Written Education Plan (WEP) for each student served. A WEP is a document that states your student's areas of gifted identification, goals for the years based on their gifted identification, and supports provided by the school. Your child will receive a WEP every year starting in 3rd grade if they are identified as gifted. Their goals for the year are selected based on their needs and the courses they are taking. You will be sent a copy of your student's WEP every year to sign stating that you agree to the gifted education provided by the school.
