In the Classroom

In Visual Arts this year you will begin to explore new materials and techniques as a method of expressing your thoughts and emotions. It is a practical subject that involves equipment and activities that have the potential to be messy or even dangerous. Because of this there are a number of requirements and expectations that you must meet if you are to participate fully in this course.

Requirements

You will be required to bring the following equipment to every Visual Arts lesson

• Your Visual Arts pack including (issued to you at the beginning of the year):
  • Visual Arts Process Diary (VAPD)
  • Drawing pencils
  • Paint set
• Laptop
• School diary
• Sharpener
• Eraser

Expectations

• Respect:
  • All members of the class, including the teacher and fellow classmates
  • Art equipment and materials
  • Other's work
  • Your own work
• Leave bags outside the classroom
• Do not leave your seat without permission
• Do not throw anything in the classroom

Your VAPD

Your Visual Arts Process Diary (VAPD) is a record of all the work that you do throughout the year. The following rules apply to the use of your VAPD.

• Always make an effort to do your best work
• Ensure your work is up-to-date and all missed work has been caught up on
• Do not destroy or graffiti your VAPD
• Do not remove any pages from your VAPD
