Sycamore Community Schools provides transition services within programs are for students with disabilities that have skill-based deficits in the areas of education, employment and independent living as identified by their IEP team
Transition activities, lessons and services are individualized within each program to address each students identified needs
All services & programs work to prepare students for life after high school, including employment, volunteering & community involvement. The team must be able to identify objectives that lead toward changing a students post-secondary outcome in order to continue to qualify for transition services after meeting high school credits.
Sycamore's transition services are delivered within the following programs: STEP, TIP, and Aviator Launch.
Program determinations do not take place until senior year.
STEP (Specialized Transition Education Program)
TIP (Transition Internship Program)
Aviator Launch
Opportunities to practice and apply functional academics through experiences including volunteering, employment readiness, community access and independent living skills
Each program will address the individual needs of the student as outlined by their IEP team
IEP teams collaborate with outside agencies such as HCDDS and OOD
All three of these programs are for Sycamore students that have been identified by their IEP team to have transition related needs that make them eligible for services.
The difference for each program is the focus, level of adult support and supervision, and physical location.
STEP is located on the high school campus
TIP and LAUNCH are located in a separate building in Blue Ash

Full-time or part-time employment
Adult day programming and community engagement
Community Volunteering
Non-degree College Certificate Program
