The highlight of the event was an engaging guest lecture on “Development with Dignity- A Tribal Perspective” delivered by Dr. Joseph Marianus Kujur. He provided students with profound knowledge on the tribals and their livelihood. The session ended with an interactive Q&A session, where students raised questions with interest to the topic. The event wrapped up with vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the chief guest, faculty members, and students for making the event a grand success.
Director of XISS
"The discourse on tribal development, unlike the mainstream development paradigm with an emphasis on 'economic growth', argues for a holistic, and humane approach, taking into consideration social, cultural, economic, spiritual, political, environmental, and human rights dimensions. The two-pronged strategy for tribal development protection from exploitation and assistance in their progress has not shown adequate success even after 76 years of India's Independence. It is high time that we revisit the approach to tribal development for an inclusive and sustainable development."
