Library Rules

Library Rules


1) All students must sit in a chair at a table. No sitting anywhere else unless permission is asked and granted from the teacher. This includes no sitting or lying on the floor, no sitting on top of tables or the circulation desk, and no sitting in the window seats without permission.


2) Per administration, no food will be permitted in the library, except for special occasions. Drinks are permitted in containers with lids. 


3) Headphones must be used when listening to music or watching videos on any personal device.


4) Any running, throwing of any item, or any disturbance of the shelves will result in an immediate trip to the office--no warnings.


5) Ms. Hatton's office is off limits.


6) The book storage room is to be used only by library aides, only when asked by Ms. Hatton for specific library tasks.


7) Only one student may use use a hall pass or restroom pass at a time.


8) Any student using the library (whether enrolled in a class or visiting on a pass) must ask permission before leaving for another location.


9) Books must be checked out before they are removed from the library.


10) Per administration, any book that is not returned by the end of the school year will be billed to the student at the full replacement cost.  Books remain on students’ accounts until they are either returned or paid for.


11) In accordance with school-wide rules, all students visiting the library during class time must have a written pass from a teacher, or be accompanied by a teacher.


12) In accordance with school-wide rules, no cell phones will be permitted for personal use during school hours.
