September Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

September marks a busy and exciting time for our school community! We're kicking off the fall season with several important events and new learning experiences. Please mark your calendars for the following:

We'd love to invite all grandparents to join us on Wednesday, September 10 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their grandparents and share a meal together. We will be serving a light breakfast.

We will be holding our first round of parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, September 25. This is a great chance to discuss your child's academic progress, social development, and goals for the school year. You will be able to sign up for a conference time through Google Appointment Scheduling starting on Friday, September 5, 2025. Each teacher will have a unique scheduling code that you will follow to sign up. Please prepare any questions and concerns and list them in the sign up to help your child's teacher best prepare. We encourage all parents to participate!

Our first eLearning day will coincide with parent-teacher conferences. On this day, students in grades 3-6 will participate in live, online lessons from home an students in grades K-2 will participate in their traditional eLearning Day format. All K-2 assignments will be posted by 9:00 a.m. This is an important way for us to practice and prepare for any future remote learning needs due to potential inclement weather. More details about the schedule, synchronous learning and login information will be sent home in a separate communication very soon. We appreciate your support in making sure your child is ready to engage in these lessons.

We will take our first ILEARN Checkpoint in September for Grades 3-6. In the SCES dropdown menu, you will find what standards are covered in each Checkpoint. As it gets closer to test time, your child's teacher will communicate additional information with you.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Warmly,

Ashley Kitts, Principal
