February Family News:
Love, Learning, and Lacing Up!
Hello, Pacer Families!
January certainly kept us on our toes with our recent string of Synchronous eLearning Days. While the change in routine can be a whirlwind, we are so proud of how our students showed up and stayed engaged. As we head into the shortest (and often busiest!) month of the year, we have plenty to celebrate and a few important reminders to keep our momentum going.
💻 Synchronous Learning: Staying on Track
Success during synchronous days relies on the following:
Attendance Matters: Just like in-person school, being present for live sessions is vital for staying caught up with the curriculum. If your child is having connectivity issues, please call the school at (812) 534-3128.
The Setup: Ensure your student has a quiet workspace and their device is charged and ready to go by the first bell. Students will have five days once we return to in-person to make up any missing work.
Your support at home makes these transitions seamless—thank you for being such incredible partners in your child's education. We understand how difficult having multiple days of eLearning can be but appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
Love is in the air at school! We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 13th. We are excited to once again offer the Barksdale Valentine's Day Card Booklet that features 36 cards with your child's school picture on it. They are $12 and can be picked up in the office. Our PTA is also selling Candy Grams in the front lobby!
Keep an eye out for specific classroom communications regarding card exchanges or treat guidelines. We want to ensure everyone feels included and that we keep our students with allergies safe. If you wish to volunteer at a Valentine's Day Party, please make sure you have an up-to-date background check on file and let your child's teacher know that you plan to attend.
One of our biggest fundraising events of the season is fast approaching! The Pacer Fun Run is a highlight for our students, promoting fitness and school spirit. It is one of our favorite fundraisers of the school year! Those forms will be going home with students when we return from synchronous learning.
We are still looking for sponsors! If you own a local business or work for a company that would like to support our school, we’d love to feature your logo on our event materials. Your contributions go directly toward enhancing our students' learning environment.
Below you will find information regarding Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 school year! If your child will be 5 by October 1st, please sign up for an appointment time below.
Sincerely,
Ashley Kitts, Principal
