Threat Assessment

Threat Assessment Teams

Threat assessment teams are comprised of an administrator, mental health worker, law enforcement, and support staff (teachers, Special Programs, 504, LEP, Restorative Practices, or Juvenile Case Managers)

The teams will investigate and review the following:

      • Verbal threats

      • Threats of self-harm

      • Sexual assault/harassment

      • Physical assault/fighting

      • Possession/use of illegal drugs

      • Bullying/cyberbullying

      • Possession/use of weapons

      • Dating violence/stalking

The responsibilities of the teams include assessing students that make threats of violence or exhibit harmful behavior to self or others. The teams are responsible for collecting and analyzing data to determine the level of risk and appropriate level of intervention. The teams are also responsible for providing guidance on recognizing harmful, threatening or violent behavior.
