The World Health Organization defines health as " a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of our students is critical to their academic success. Serving as an integral part of promoting the mental health of our students, the School Nurse works alongside administrators, counselors, social workers, teachers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to assist in managing students' needs. Additionally, SWISD has a partnership with the University Health System in providing medical care access and services to SWISD students, families, and staff through the SWISD School-Based Health Clinic.
