What if I am going on vacation/ Student will be absent 5-15 school days?

Per Education Code,  "Vacations" are not an excusable reason for an absence.  However, if you are going to be out for 3-15 days Contact:  Ryan Van Nostrand  for the option of initiating  an Independent Study Contract. 

Vacation/ out of town is only excused when students are out 3-15 days on an independent study contract. 

• CONTRACTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF EACH SEMESTER.  Should you choose to take vacation early, all days will be unexcused, and you may be placed on an attendance agreement. Students are expected to be present for their finals vs taking vacation early. Teachers have the right to enter zeroes on finals and students will need one Saturday School per every day out for early vacation as well as be placed on the Non-Privileged list.

• The request must be done 1-2 weeks before the absence is scheduled to begin; unless it is an emergency.  

• Students who are on an Independent Study Contract are expected to have all assigned work completed and ready to submit upon return.
