CVM 2024-2025 NEW 8TH GRADER COURSE OFFERING/REGISTRATION INFO.
The following is for NEW Incoming 8th-grade students to SUHSD or NEW to CVM who have received a GUID number and have completed Infinite Campus Portal the online registration/residency process and requirements. If you have not received a GUID number please go to the CVM Registration webpage-CLICK HERE. For current 7th-grade students who will remain and stay at CVM for 8th grade, your school counselor has already met with the student to conduct the pre-registration/selection of classes.

Now that your OLR registration is underway, you and your student will need to select Elective Class choices.
Elective courses offer enrichment opportunities where students can explore their interests in many different areas such as: The Fine Arts (SCPA), Student Leadership (ASB), World Languages, and more!
The 8th-grade schedule will consist of the following classes: English 8, Math 8, General Science 2, US History 8, P.E. 8, and one Elective class. Students with an Individual Education Plan classes may vary depending on their IEP program.
On this page, you can access the 8th-grade course offering form where you will select up to 5 electives with #1 being your top choice.
*Please note: electives are open until filled based on when you submit/complete OLR registration. If electives are not chosen, the counselor will then select the elective that is open/available. All Electives are year-long courses.

If you need a paper copy of the 8th-grade course form, you may pick one up at the CVMS front office.
Si necesita una copia impresa del formulario del curso de 8.° grado, puede recoger una en la oficina principal de CVMS.
Step 1: After downloading the 8th-grade course offering form, the student must print their last name, first name, birth date, and elementary school (top section of the form).
Step 2: Student and Parent review the elective course description. Next, select electives amongst all three areas and rank electives from 1-5 in order of preference, with #1 being your top choice.
Step 3: You may turn in the 8th-grade course offering form:
In-person at CVMS main office (attention to CVMS Counselors)

Step 4: If a student selects to enroll in a Spanish class during our 0 period (7:20 am). Students must take a Spanish entry test before being enrolled in the class- Click Here.
Step 5: Submit Recent Grades/Transcripts
IMPORTANT: Parents/Guardians must Email as an attachment or provide a copy of the student’s Grades from the last school attended: Report Card/Progress Report/Transcript to school registrar Nancy.Hiller@sweetwaterschools.org
Without grades, a student’s correct class placement may be delayed. Core Classes (English, Math, History, and Science) will be determined based on recent grades you provide, test scores, and teacher recommendations.
