An instrument fitting is a time where a student sits down with a musician and tries multiple instruments. While most students can play any instrument, certain considerations may make one instrument a better "fit" for the student than another.
All 6th Grade students will be able to try 3 instruments before making a decision on what they would like to play for the year.
Students had the opportunity to try instruments. If your child was absent and needs to have a fitting for an instrument, please email zachary.koehler@swcsd.us as soon as possible.

Families may also have an instrument at home from a family member that they wish to use. Most of the time this can be arranged. Students still need to be checked and fitted to make sure that they will be successful on that instrument and that the instrument is the correct size for them.
Students are expected to bring pre-owned instruments to a music teacher or music store before the first day of class so any necessary repairs or maintenance can be discussed with parents and completed before the instrument is used by the student.
