The Hays County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) promotes sound soil and water conservation programs on farms and ranchlands within the district. With headquarters in San Marcos, Texas, the District also serves as a voice for farmers and ranchers on conservation matters.

The SWCD works to bring to the public a widespread understanding of the need to conserve our soil and water resources. The district activates the efforts of public and private organizations and agencies creating a united front to combat soil and water erosion and to enhance water quality and quantity.
