Our Facilities
PE and Sport Facilities
Borlase Sport and PE has excelled in recent years, with limited facilities. As a result of a lot of hard work behind the scenes, led by Miss Mountfield, the School were able to secure planning permission and the finances to upgrade our facilities.
September 2021
Our new sports hall is open!
We are delighted to be using our brand new full size sports hall on a daily basis. Facilities are in place to offer Basketball, Indoor Hockey, Netball, Volleyball and Badminton.
The Fitness Suite is allowing students and staff to access cardio and free weight training facilities. This is in addition to the Rowing Training Centre with numerous ergometers and a range of free weights used by our rowing squads.
The building also includes two fantastic changing facilities and a spacious classroom for our academic lessons and coaching theory sessions.
2020/2021
Sports Hall
The final scheduled piece of work will be the construction of our brand new Sports Hall which will provide us with a classroom, fitness suite, changing rooms and a much needed full size sports hall. This will completely revolutionise what we can offer within PE lessons, the fixtures we can host and the opportunities that we will be able to give all students and staff.
2019/2020
Quoitings
The work started in 2019, with our Netball courts being pulled up. These courts were replaced by a new grass Football pitch which will act as a junior Football pitch once the grass seed has fully grown through, estimated Easter 2021.
Netball / Tennis Courts
The next stage was our ‘old astro’ being replaced with a hard court surface. We were fortunate to play a few Netball fixtures before the Easter holidays and this will be a multi-use facility with Netball and Tennis primarily being played there.
Hockey Astro
During the lockdown more building work commenced with the construction of a new Hockey Astro on Home Meadow. This will be a top class facility, that we have not had on the school site for a long time and really help to drive our Hockey forward. It will be heavily used throughout the school day and by multiple sports.
