Curriculum statement

Our KS3 Science curriculum is delivered by passionate specialist teachers with a wealth of experience and subject knowledge whose primary aim is to enthuse young people about Science. Our students study topics in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and are encouraged to develop a breadth and depth of knowledge that builds on the KS2 Science curriculum and prepares them for their GCSE courses. Our students are also taught how to work scientifically, and significant emphasis is placed on practical work that promotes investigation and independent inquiry.

Science at Borlase prepares young people to be adaptable in a rapidly changing world. It encourages them to be creative in their problem solving and to view change as an opportunity. It equips them with the knowledge and skills to develop the innovative solutions needed to secure the future health of our planet and to better understand its place in the wider universe.
