Curriculum overview

Students are taught topics in Biology, Chemistry and Physics over the KS3 Science course. Each topic will build on knowledge and skills gained during the KS2 curriculum and will prepare students for their GCSE courses. Students will also be introduced to how the knowledge and skills they are learning are used in a real-world context and in Science-related careers.

Practicals are a big part of the KS3 Science curriculum at Borlase and practical work features regularly throughout both Year 7 and 8. This allows students to learn and develop numerous practical skills, as well as promoting investigation and independent inquiry.
