Trips and Visits

The MFL department runs regular exchange visits.  French students have the opportunity to visit our twinned school in Marly le Roi in Year 10. They will spend a week in Marly and will experience what is is like to live with a French family and they will also spend time visiting the sites in and around Paris. This is an excellent opportunity to not only improve their French skills but also increase self-confidence and independence. 

Our 6th form students visit Montpellier and the surrounding region. They are able to experience French food, culture and architecture as well as practice their spoken French.

Competitions 

Students have the opportunity to take part in a number of extra-curricular competitions including the UK Linguistics Olympiad, the GCHQ National Language Competition and the Anthea Bell Translation competition.
