The Drama curriculum at KS3 level provides students with both an enjoyable experience and a rich and broad practical understanding of Drama as a subject. This ranges from traditional Melodrama and Greek Theatre to the practical exploration of contemporary social and cultural themes and issues, explored through devised projects such as the London Riots. The KS3 curriculum covers the essential drama skills of approaching both devised and scripted work, providing a strong foundation for learning at GCSE level.
The GCSE curriculum is exciting and broad where students learn about Drama from the perspective of an actor, designer and director. The spiralled curriculum is designed to enable the development and refinement of skills at each key stage.
At A level, students study more advanced theatre practitioners such as Berkoff and set texts such as Treadwell's 'Machinal'. This provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to progress with Drama beyond Advanced Level studies.
