We strongly believes in giving children the best start in life and have heavily invested in the EYFS provision at our school. We strongly believe that the children need the best foundations to be able to grow into lifelong learners. In order to do this, we have developed a provision where children are immersed in a play based curriculum that is built around the interests of the children.
We have extremely well resourced indoor and outdoor environments to support independent learning. The provision encourages children to explore by showing curiosity, initiate ideas and seek challenge, persist and bounce back after difficulties and be creative whilst thinking critically.
Each classroom has internal doors, connecting them to the other EYFS classrooms. We have these doors open for the children to free-flow between once their in class teaching sessions have taken place as well as having access to the outside area.
Each week will have a different book focus and all of the activities, inside and outside will focus around the same text. There is an over arching theme that will run throughout the term and all of the weekly books will be part of this theme.
Each classroom has a different area of development in it such as a Role Play Area, Workshop area, Book Corner, Messy Play area, Construction area, Maths area and Writing areas. All children are able to access all of these areas once the doors have been opened.
Positive relationships between staff and families are formed as children start school to ensure the transition between nursery and starting school is smooth.
