ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Written by Ms. Aleksandra
With her brush pens and a passion for beautiful lettering, she captivated the attention of curious MYP students. Her enthusiasm was contagious as she demonstrated the art of creating elegant strokes and forming letters with precision. The session wasn't just about technique; it was about finding joy in creative expression and discovering patience through practice.
This unique experience highlighted the value of peer education. Seeing a younger student confidently sharing her expertise inspired the older students to embrace new challenges and recognise the potential of learning from anyone, regardless of age. It was a reminder that teaching and learning are not limited by grade levels but are driven by passion and a willingness to share.
The calligraphy session not only taught a skill but also encouraged collaboration and mutual respect. It was a beautiful example of how peer education can build connections and ignite creativity, proving that we all have something valuable to contribute.

Grade 6 and 7 Social-Emotional Learning: Prioritizing with the Eisenhower Decision Matrix
In Grade 6 and 7, students have been learning to manage their time and tasks more effectively through the Eisenhower Decision Matrix, a powerful tool for prioritization. By understanding the matrix, students are taught to categorise tasks based on their urgency and importance, helping them focus on what truly matters.
The matrix divides tasks into four categories:
Urgent and Important – Do these tasks immediately.
Not Urgent but Important – Schedule these tasks for later.
Urgent but Not Important – Delegate these tasks if possible.
Not Urgent and Not Important – Minimize or eliminate these tasks.
By applying this method, students not only improve their self-management skills but also enhance their self-awareness. They learn to identify which activities align with their values and long-term goals, helping them make better decisions and reduce stress. This practical approach equips Grade 6 students with the tools they need to prioritise effectively, manage their responsibilities, and approach challenges with a clear and focused mindset.
