TODDLER
UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD
Written by Ms. Mary-Ann
The Toddler Class explored the concept of opposites as the theme for Term 3, starting with the wonders of the day and night sky through engaging, hands-on activities. The lesson began with sensory play, where students explored two themed bins representing the day and night sky. They sprayed blue and black-coloured liquid onto white flour to mimic the sky’s contrasting shades, sparking their creativity and curiosity. Following this, they identified the heavenly bodies visible in the sky, such as the sun, moon, stars, and clouds.
The focus then shifted to the sun, highlighting its role in providing warmth and light. Using a large sun prop and lively illustrations, the toddlers identified objects commonly seen during the day. They also observed the daytime sky through the classroom windows and doors. These activities encouraged them to notice the brightness and features of the sun.
The children’s enthusiasm continued through creative crafts and music. They painted sparkling suns and sang songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," enhancing their memory and understanding of the theme.
NURSERY - MATHEMATICS
Written by Ms. Anne-Jill
The Nursery class took their first steps into the exciting world of numbers! They joyfully sang and moved along to the song "How Many Fingers on Your Hand," having fun counting while doing big and small movements like jumping, clapping, tapping, and even blinking their eyes.
The excitement grew as they hopped on numbers, challenging themselves to hop on one foot—a big achievement for their growing coordination. They also traced the numbers using a number road and a toy car, making it a fun, hands-on activity to reinforce their learning.
The highlight of the activity was counting their feet and toes, then using them to move balls from one container to another. It was a fun challenge and a fantastic core workout too!
They also enjoyed listening to The Three Little Pigs by James Marshall, sparking their imaginations and building their love for stories. What a wonderful way to combine movement, learning, and creativity!

GRADE 1 FIELD TRIP
Written by Mr. Robert
Our Grade 1 students recently visited Puji Hidroponik in Tangerang, an urban farm specialising in hydroponically grown fruits and vegetables. Established in 2020, Puji Hidroponik employs modern greenhouse technology to cultivate fresh, pesticide-free produce, including melons, in a controlled environment.
During the visit, students observed the hydroponic systems that allow plants to grow without soil, receiving optimal nutrients directly through water solutions. This method often results in faster plant growth compared to traditional farming.
The hands-on experience engaged students with immediate learning opportunities, sparking curiosity about plant biology and sustainable agriculture. Such exposure is known to enhance understanding of STEM concepts and promote critical thinking.
Additionally, the visit highlighted the importance of sustainable farming practices in urban settings, demonstrating how hydroponic systems can contribute to food security by producing higher yields in limited spaces.

The Grade 2 field trip to the National Museum was an unforgettable educational experience that combined fun, creativity, and an immersive dive into the rich history of Indonesia. This journey taught students about the nation's cultural heritage and allowed them to engage in hands-on activities and technological marvels actively.
One of the trip's highlights was the opportunity for students to craft their keris using clay. The keris, a traditional Indonesian dagger known for its unique design and cultural significance, served as an excellent medium for students to connect with Indonesia’s past. As they molded and shaped the clay, they learned about the keris as a symbol of bravery, spirituality, and artistry in Indonesian history. This activity encouraged the students to use their creativity while deepening their understanding of Indonesia’s cultural treasures. The hands-on approach was a perfect blend of fun and learning, leaving them with a tangible memory of the trip.

Buzzing with Knowledge: Grade 3 Field Trip to Madu Pramuka
The Grade 3 students embarked on an exciting field trip to Madu Pramuka, a bee farm located just outside the city. This educational outing proved to be a buzzing success, as the students had the chance to learn about science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) in a fun and engaging way.
The Grade 3 students embarked on an exciting field trip to Madu Pramuka, a bee farm located just outside the city. This educational outing proved to be a buzzing success, as the students had the chance to learn about science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) in a fun and engaging way.
One of the highlights of the trip was the hands-on science lesson about bees. Students explored the life cycle of bees and discovered different species, some unique to Indonesia. Guided by experts, they observed bees up close, learning how hives are built, nectar is collected, and honey is made. This interactive experience left everyone in awe of these tiny yet mighty creatures. It also sparked conversations about how scientists study and protect these essential pollinators.
The trip also provided an unexpected but delightful maths lesson. The students explored the unique hexagon shapes of the honeycomb, marvelling at how the bees create perfect geometric patterns. They also learned how technology helps beekeepers monitor hive health and harvest honey sustainably.
With the tour conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, students practiced their language skills while learning new vocabulary. Of course, no trip to a bee farm would be complete without tasting the product of the bees’ hard work. The students were thrilled to sample fresh honey. Many described it as the “sweetest honey they’d ever tasted,” and several brought home jars to share with their families.
The field trip was an enriching experience, blending STEM learning with real-world applications, leaving students inspired and buzzing with excitement. This trip was a true testament to the joy of learning beyond the classroom.
GRADE 4 FIELD TRIP
Written by Mr. Marc
The Grade 4 students had a successful field trip to The National Monument, also known as Monas, which is a major landmark located in the Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta.
The trip was designed to teach students about the history of Indonesian leaders and cultural heritage. Students learned facts about President Soekarno, President Suharto, and other leaders of Indonesia.
The students climbed lots of stairs and even took an elevator to near the top of the monument where they learned that the monument is an obelisk that is 132 m (433 ft) tall.
One student remarked, “This is so much fun.”
A guide was overheard explaining to students, “Monas also resembles the bloom of the famous Amorphophallus titanum, which is a plant that is native to Indonesia.”
As part of the complex, the Indonesian National History Museum has a display of dioramas around the walls and in the centre of the hall, which have scenes from Indonesian history from the beginning during the earliest days of Prehistoric Indonesia.
When asked about the trip, a student replied, “This was the most interesting and fun field trip ever!”
