CONGRATULATIONS
SWA RoboKnights Representing Indonesia at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) - International Final @ Dortmund Germany, November 2022
Written by Mr. Haoken
The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) aims to ‘bring together young people all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities’. This year’s theme “My Robot, My Friend” represents a combination of robotics and artificial intelligence. Within this theme, challenges are based on demonstrating how robots can help and interact with humans. Judges look for innovative solutions that questioned assumptions in a true “double loop thinking” approach. Each of teams will compete against teams from over 85 countries across four categories - RoboMission, Future Innovators, Future Engineers and RoboSports.
Between August 19th and 21st, students from schools across Indonesia immersed themselves in the fascinating world of robotics at the World Robot Olympiad National Qualifiers (WRO-Indonesia 2022) organized by ITS Surabaya. Selected 4 teams will represent Indonesia at the International Final.
A massive congratulations to SWA RoboKnights (Future Innovators Category) & Tech Moguls members Jessica (G9), YuJu (G10), and Ayden (G10) will be representing Indonesia at the World Robot Olympiad 2022 International Final at Dortmund Germany in November 2022.
Another SWA RoboKnights (RoboMission - Junior) & Tech Moguls members Audric (G9), Ryan (G9), and Carlos (G7) obtained 5th rank and the most favorite team award at the national round. We are extremely proud of their achievements too.
Our IB framework is modified through numerous practices such as providing voice and choice; using advanced concepts and resources; adjusted pacing; and presenting materials at differing levels of complexity. We as educators support creative, critical and analytical approaches to complex issues and nurture curiosity, independence and intellectual explorations. We are proud to be one of the first schools to invest in STEAM and develop young people’s digital skills, partnering with educational agencies. Over the last few years, through our actions, we have helped SWA students engage in STEAM, fostering their teamwork and creativity.
