MSHS EX FAIR
Written by Mr. Alex Nenes
It is time to welcome the EX Programme 22-23!
Last Thursday, August 18th all MSHS students gathered in the GM Piazza to promote this year Extra Curricular Activities. MSHS EXs take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during Period 10 (3:14 - 4:00 PM). Extra Curricular Activities student executives presented their clubs and activities and recruited the members for this academic year. The EX Fair is a tradition at SWA and it gives students the opportunity to promote activities they initiated and also join school initiatives. It was a very dynamic process and all students had the chance to explore, ask questions and select their favourite activities.
The EX at SWA is an integral component of our BEST Pathways Programme. As such, they often prepare students for gaining awards in various local, national, and international competitions, involve students in leadership, motivate them to take action by providing services to the local community, develop student’s identity through socialising with other people, and extend their horizons by exploring new passions and learning new skills.
Fundamentally, EX activities fulfil the need to lead a balanced life. In addition to developing knowledge and skills, the EX programme promotes the intrinsic values of respect and commitment. All MSHS students are required to sign up for at least two EXs and we strongly recommend including one sport in their choices in order to promote a healthy living life style.
The MSHS EX Programme 2022-2022 started on the 25th of August. This year there are as many as 28 different activities for the students to choose from. Activities include badminton, basketball, swimming, chess, Model United Nations, Microbits, Fashion and Design and many more!
