Design Proposal

Our design is a disposable bin that will utilize recognition software to identify the item that is being disposed of. The device will house a small tablet that will act as the user interface for the client to interact with. The user will press a button and the device will ask the client to present the item's bar code. The tablet will use a bar code scanner to scan the item. Then using the software that we programmed, it will compute which bin the item goes in and display a message notifying the client so that they may comply. Talking more about the physical design of the device itself, it consist of three main parts: the bins, the base, and the CPU (tablet). the bins will be held together side by side by a base that will be supported by the bins. the base will be a single large plane of wood that has a compartment to house the tablet in. We will need to cut The base will also be painted to give it a better look than plywood by itself. The base will have a window cut out so that the screen of the tablet is visible and able to be reached by the client.
