Welcome to Social Studies!  Fifth graders in Ohio focus on learning about the geography, history, people and cultures of the Western Hemisphere as well as forms of government and economics.  We work on skills such as reading and making maps, determining the latitude and longitude coordinates of a location, and using  timelines.  History and geography in fifth grade does not look like only reading from a book!  We learn our material through projects, group work, reports, technology, vocabulary and of course some reading!
