Class Information
Dual Credit AP European History
Unit 1-4 Class Calendar
From the College Board:
"Study the cultural, economic, political, and social developments that have shaped Europe from c. 1450 to the present. You’ll analyze texts, visual sources, and other historical evidence and write essays expressing historical arguments."
From me:
AP Euro is a challenging yet extremely rewarding class. The curriculum begins in Italy during the days of the Renaisance and winds through European history, focusing on social, political and economic developments. Split into nine separate units within four time periods, the course is well organized to ensure students have the best opportunities to follow events chronologically and thematically.
This course is a dual credit course receiving course credit through MVCC.
The course culminates in an AP exam (first week in May) as well as the NY Global History Regents Exam.
Global History and Geography 10
This course explores human history from the year 1750 all the way through the present day. Students will be exposed to a variety of view points, historical developments, conflicts and institutions through the school year. The class utilizes a combination of primary and secondary sources to drive the curriculum, encouraging students to develop a broad understanding of the past.
The course culminates in the NY State Global History Regents Exam
PRe-AP Global History 9
Pre-AP Global follows the traditional Global History and Geography curriculum, but introduces students to a higher level of content material. This is accomplished by incorporating primary source documents into the course on a nearly daily basis to expose students to historical view points and prepare them for the rigors of AP Euro. The class also relies heavily on analytical and research based writing (both short and long form) as a means of both learning and assessment.
