About me!

Hello!

My name is Kyle Hutchinson and the 23/24 school year will be my 10th year teaching and my 5th year here at Sauquoit Valley.

I have lived in Central New York for almost my entire life, and absolutely love calling this region home. I currently live in New Hartford with my wife Jen, our son Benjamin and our pup Winston.

I graduated from New Hartford in 2007 and then went on to St. John Fisher University and graduated as a dual-major in both history and adolescent education. Following this, I earned my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.

While teaching is my career, sports, especially football, have always been an important piece of who I am. I played offensive line at SJFU, and ever since graduating have coached the sport in some capacity, most recently as the tight ends coach at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.

I'm also a huge football (soccer) fan. If there's a Liverpool game on, you can almost certainly count on me being glued to the TV, screaming in either celebration or agony.

History and teaching history have always been passions of mine. I have been fortunate enough to travel to several countries through sports as well as personal vacations, and am constantly fascinated by the cultures, customs and lives of different people and places. I truly believe that studying history helps us become better people in a world that is constantly shrinking.
