Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus,
AP Calculus
The benefit of teaching Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus is that student expectations remain constant and each course has the same expectations as well as the same grading rubric. It appears below. As always, if you ever have any questions, please reach out (e-mail seems to work the best).
Please arrive to class on time and prepared. Bring the following to class each day: notebook, pen or pencil, paper, and calculator. A mechanical pencil is strongly recommended.
This class contains a great deal of material and can be rigorous in its pacing. Do not be afraid to ask a question or ask for extra help. It is available during the school day and after school. Please let me know if you will be coming in for help.
If you miss a day it is your responsibility to make-up the work you missed including all notes and assignments, within two days of your return. Do not allow yourself to fall behind, since each new unit builds upon the prior material.
Please stow any/all electronic devices in your backpack/pocket before the beginning of the class. This includes any cell phone, headphones, earbuds etc.
There are two excellent graphing calculator apps for both iOS and Android available on the app store – ‘GraphNCalc83’, ‘Calculate84’. They emulate the graphing calculator that we use in class and are relatively inexpensive (and more portable) than an actual calculator. There are free versions, however some of the functions are locked out and you will have to view ads.
