Call for Volunteers (Room Parents and Event Volunteers)
✅ 2 Volunteers per class to:
Set up and manage a class communication group
Send intro email to families with budget and contribution details.
Coordinate with teachers on class celebrations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, CNY, etc.)
Organize 2+ optional family gatherings (e.g., park playdates, picnics, nature walks).
Manage classroom funds and teacher appreciation contributions
Organize a class keepsake (e.g., photo placemat).
⏳ Estimated Time Commitment (2 people): ~approx. 10 hours for the year
✅ Volunteers to support ~2 families each
Welcome New Families: Send a welcome email to 2 new assigned families before 8/11 and meet them at the 8/12 socials! Stay in touch during the year at various events, or ad-hoc
Help at School Events: Volunteer at one Open House or community event in the fall—greet prospective families, help with refreshments, or hand out materials.
⏳ Time Commitment: ~6 hours for the year
New Family Buddy: ~2 hours
School Event Support: ~3 hours
✅ Multiple volunteers for each event
Each family is asked to volunteer for two or more shifts at a Parent Organization sponsored event throughout the school year. Shifts are typically 2-3 hours. Volunteers will assist with prep, setup, cleanup, and/or help, for example:
Fall Family Event (Oct 18)
K-8 Thanksgiving Potluck (Nov 21)
Classroom Holiday Gifts prep (~early Dec)
Uniform Sales (Dates TBD)
Chinese New Year Celebration (Feb 7)
Scholastic Book Fair (Mar 11-14)
Spring Family Potluck and BBQ (Apr 25)
Staff Appreciation Week (Week of May 4)
Camping Trip (mid-May)
