Everyone Active

Southwark, which has been known to have a horrible reputation, surprisingly has lots of positives it. One of the positives is Everyone Active which is a leisure center donating a free swim and gym. It is based in Rotherhithe and is open all day Friday and from 2pm in the weekend.

Everyone Active started in 1987, however the free swim and gym was created in 2016. Over the last decade the council have put almost £50m worth investment into leisure facilities in the borough and are continuing to prove their commitment to getting Southwark active with this scheme.

Southwark residents hopes that the initiative continues well into the future and that funding for this remains available. Daniel is a Southwark resident and said "I have seen a positive impact on my physical well being since free swim and gym started.''
