STRATEGY TO 2028
STRATEGY TO 2028
We’re in a democratic backslide and authoritarianism is rising.
MAGA continues to use divide and conquer tactics, scapegoating people of color and poor people while rich people are getting richer.
We need to use institutional powers like elections.
And non-institutional powers like mass noncooperation (boycotts, strikes, not complying with the norm!)
Defeat Trump (and Trumpism) in 2028 at the ballot box, and then defend the results
In the meantime, organize our people to be ready for strategic noncooperation
Along the way, train teams to elect hundreds of working class candidates at all levels of government
And in everything we do, build our base and develop into strong and powerful organizers so we can be lifelong movement leaders.
Elect 100 candidates who are willing to fight for the working class and against Trump and the billionaires
Train 10,000 people in these dual tactics of using elections and noncooperation to win governing power
Stop the Trump Trifecta - we have to flip the House to slow their roll. And we’ll fight for movement champions – those who are willing to fight for the working class and use all the tools at their disposal to slow down Trump.
We predict massive numbers of people protesting this summer as Trump’s actions continue to get worse.
People are yearning for more than just showing up to protests – they want to be part of a longer-term plan.
We’ll scoop them up and bring them into sustained action with us – and it starts by getting them to one of our 110 in-person Mass Meetings this summer.
Elections Track:
Form a team with your neighbors to get out the vote for a candidate in your area who has a bold vision to fight for the working class and refuses to comply with the worst of Trump’s actions
Throw down in 2-3 key state or local elections
Noncompliance Track:
Join the 2-week Immigrant Solidarity Mobilizing Series, to learn how to do rapid response and sustained resistance in defense of immigrant rights
Or go through the 5-week Solidarity Organizing Curriculum to learn how to form an Immigration Solidarity Committee that runs a mini-campaign to organize a local institution to not cooperate with ICE
Work to elect hundreds of candidates who are willing to fight – at the local, state, and Congressional level, in cities, small towns, rural places – all who have pledged to not comply with the worst of Trump’s actions, pledged to actually fight against billionaires and for the working class, and all who are running on the same visionary broad platform.
This also means supporting our people in the primaries in the spring so by the time we get to November, we actually have the right people on the ballot going up against the billionaire MAGA candidates – people who are willing to fight hard and therefore can actually WIN. Those primaries will come up quickly!
