We are now in a decisive phase of the fight against authoritarianism, the threat is real and the stakes are high. And people are fighting back. Millions have protested, and we've watched powerful organizing coming out of Minneapolis, Chicago, and other cities that have borne the brunt of ICE's assaults on our communities. Mass anger exists, but mass organization does not yet exist at the scale needed to win. Movements become real when they reach millions: organized, trained, and acting together.

The stage for the midterm elections is set, and the stakes for our movement and democracy couldn't be higher.

These races include: SENATE:

• Michigan Senate (Movement Champion Race) - Abdul El-Sayed, who is born and raised in Michigan, studied to be a doctor but then realized he wanted to dedicate his career to building government systems that actually work for Michiganders. He has secured free glasses for kids who need the,, removed lead from Detroit’s elementary schools, taken on Michigan's biggest polluters and made Narcan universally accessible. He has also spearheaded a program to eventually cancel up to $700 million in medical debt for 300,000 Michiganders over 2 years. He is a true fighter and is ready to take that to DC on behalf of the whole state!

• Maine Senate (Movement Champion Race) - Troy Jackson, who is a logger from Allagash, a lifelong fighter for workers' rights, and former Maine Senate President who is running to put power back in the hands of working people and unseat Susan Collins.

• North Carolina Senate (Block the Right Race) - Roy Cooper, the former Democratic Governor of North Carolina. He was born and raised in Nash County, North Carolina attending public schools. He has a deep commitment to public education and while governor worked to expand Medicaid, relieve over $4 billion in medical debt for North Carolina families.

• Georgia Senate (Block the Right Race) - Jon Ossoff, who is an incumbent democratic Senator for the state of Georgia. He was born and raised in Atlanta. He is focused on exposing and stopping governmental corruption all while being one of the few US Senators whose campaign refuses corporate PAC money.

HOUSE:

• Michigan Congressional District 7 (Movement Champion Race) - Will Lawrence, who is an organizer and coalition-builder with experience speaking truth to power and getting results at the local, state and federal level. Born and raised in Mid-Michigan, Will has fought tirelessly to protect people’s rights to housing (co-founder of the Rents Is Too Damn High Coalition), bring good, green jobs to the district (as a co-founder of Sunrise Movement) and to ward off data center greed.

• Tennessee Congressional District 9 (Movement Champion Race) - Justin Pearson, who is an organizer, born and raised in Southwest Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in a working class family and has been advocating for his community since the age of 15, fighting for better education for his classmates. He has since formed Memphis Community Against the Pipeline (MCAP) to fight billion dollar oil companies that would have polluted over a million people’s drinking water, fought alongside workers for better wages and taken on the xAI data center for their illegal pollution.

• California Congressional District 22 (Movement Champion Race) - Randy Villegas, who is a 30-year old son of immigrants and activist for immigrant rights in his area. He is an elected school board trustee in Visalia, CA and political science professor who is running to represent California’s 22nd congressional district, representing Bakersfield and portions of the central valley.
