As white people organizing for racial justice, we know what's at stake in this moment. We know that the billionaires see multi-racial democracy as a threat to their power, so they use race and class to divide us so that we don't join together to build the world we deserve - a world with clean air and water, fully funded schools, healthcare for all, free accessible childcare; a world of racial and economic justice. Power holders are so threatened by our power that they are not only scapegoating our black, brown, immigrant, and trans neighbors to distract us from their corruption, they are also working in earnest to dismantle our democracy in order to cement their wealth and power.
We know that white people have an outsized influence in both the electoral and political spheres, which is why Showing up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is working hard to move white people to both WIN the midterm elections by big margins so that they are hard to contest and then ENFORCE the election results.
In order to enforce our wins after the midterms, we will have to engage in direct action noncooperation by disrupting business as usual and refusing to cooperate with MAGA's attempts to steal our votes.
The monthly campaign calls will keep us unified around our shared goals, help us track our progress, and they will be spaces for us to celebrate our wins together and grieve our losses.
Depending on the month, these calls will include political education, skills training, guest speakers, and relationship building with other SURJ members. Hope to see you there!

This might look like signing up for a phonebank or campaign call, reaching out to people to build your Crew, or making a plan to attend an upcoming mobilization in your community.

Check-in with your captains! See how they are doing with finding their crew, ask them if they’ve signed up for their phonebanks, ask them how it went.
Start planning ways to bring your team together, like hosting a phonebank party or a recruitment coworking session, so everyone can support one another and stay on track with their commitments.
