Your Proposal is your first official step. Once you have a general idea of what you want to do and have made contact with someone to know that it will work out, complete your Proposal in Google Classroom and submit it for approval from Ms. Knoll.
Your Community Service Supervisor is someone connected to your project who can verify and sign off that you have completed all of your service hours. Most often this is the person you have set your volunteering experience up with at the location or event you plan to volunteer at.
Yes, you can complete community service hours during the summer! Once you know what you are going to do, you need to fill out your Proposal and get that approved before you complete anything!
No, you cannot shadow a parent or sibling. They can, however, help you set up your job shadow with a colleague/co-worker if that is the career field you are interested in researching.
Talk to Ms. Knoll. Your approved proposal is what you are expected to complete, major changes will require you to update and resubmit your proposal for approval again. Minor changes might not require resubmission.
Once you have completed and logged all of your hours, make sure you receive a signature from you Community Service Supervisor and then turn in your completed and signed hours log to Ms. Knoll.
Yes, if you don't finish your minimum number of hours this year, those hours will follow you to next year. You will still have to complete them!
In May, next year's Proposal forms will be available in Google Classroom. You can start working on these hours as soon as your proposal is complete and approved.
